Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, questers! Most of you are American, I believe, but I’m taking this opportunity to offer up a bouquet of gratitude. I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of time talking about the negative things in life, and don’t dwell nearly enough on the positive.

So here’s to the good, the true, and the beautiful things God has woven into my life.

I’m thankful for…

A family I love to go home to every day

Friends as close as a text or coffee date away

The golden glow of autumn (which is currently dusted white in early snow)

The constant presence of God in my life

Songs that express what words alone cannot

Stories that sweep me away

A job I love

The slow growth of my own stories taking shape one word at a time

The simple joy of a good cup of coffee or shared meal or a genuine smile

Cozy sweaters

Laughing over stupid things

The promise of always being loved

Drives with my siblings when we crank the music

All the ways I am learning and re-learning and growing, sometimes achingly, but still moving forward

The excitement of the unknown up ahead

The memory of God’s faithfulness in the past

The goodness that is present right here

But I will give all my thanks to you, Lord,
for you make everything right in the end.
I will sing my highest praise to the God of the Highest Place!

Psalm 7:17 (The Passion Translation)

Happy Thanksgiving to you!!! I do hope you’re having a beautiful, refreshing day!

I LOVED this post. So many happy, joyful things! Especially those last three. YES. Such good things to remember and be grateful for. In fact, just the other day I was thinking about how there is excitement in the unknown. Sometimes I get scared and frustrated not knowing what’s ahead. Then I remember God is already there and He is faithful. The unknown future should EXCITE us, not put us in dread. The verse you shared is a perfect reminder of that. God is good!

Thank you for reminding us to remember the good things. Something I definitely need to do more often. Happy Thanksgiving again! *hugs*

Thank you, m’dear! I did have a beautiful, refreshing day and it was so good for the soul! <3

Sometimes it's the simple things that make me the most grateful. Oh goodness, YES, I've been reminding myself of that very thing lately. It seems that as soon as I hit one milestone or solve one problem, I move on to worrying about the next thing. When really, the future is exciting and mysterious and full of good things. *hugs* You said it so well!

And thank YOU, Christine! You're one of the people I'm thankful for! 😉
